ANATEL Certification

Telecommunications product certification for the Brazilian market

At Holtech, we act as a legal representative (holder) for companies that need to bring their telecommunications products into compliance with Brazilian regulations. Our mission is to ensure that every stage of the certification process with ANATEL is managed with efficiency, transparency, and full regulatory security. We oversee the process from start to finish, making sure your products are fully prepared to be marketed in Brazil legally, safely, and in accordance with all technical requirements.

How ANATEL Certification Works

ANATEL (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações) requires all telecommunications devices to be certified before they can be sold in the Brazilian market. This procedure ensures that products meet the required technical and safety standards, guaranteeing quality, reliability, and compatibility in operation.

The main steps include:

  1. 1. Product Classification
    Identifying the category of the device (cell phones, modems, routers, transceivers, chargers, batteries, etc.), as each type follows specific regulations.
  2. 2. Designated Certification Body (OCD)
    An accredited OCD performs the technical evaluation and issues a Certificate of Conformity after analyzing the applicable tests.
  3. 3. Testing in Accredited Laboratories
    The product undergoes testing in laboratories accredited by INMETRO, evaluating requirements such as:
    • • electrical safety;
    • • electromagnetic compatibility (EMC);
    • • radio frequency performance;
    • • functional quality.
  4. 4. Issuance of the Certificate of Conformity
    Once approved, the OCD issues the certificate, allowing the process to move forward to ANATEL.
  5. 5. Registration with ANATEL
    The certificate, along with the complete documentation, is submitted to ANATEL. Once validated, the agency issues the official homologation.
  6. 6. Commercialization in Brazil
    With ANATEL's homologation granted, the product is legally authorized to be sold in Brazil, ensuring full compliance with all technical and safety requirements.
